Cataclysm

Wrath has come to an End.

And what a glorious end it is. Dragon Knights celebrated with an all guild party during WoW's 6th anniversary of launch and a raffle drawing with fabulous prizes. A big thanks to Khech, Ael, Ellminster and Riotpolice (and anyone I might have forgot) for gathering prizes. It was a great party, a great time, and a great expansion.

Borean Tundra knows how to party!

Check out the official post on the forums for the raffle results. Hopefully, we can party like this all the time :-) Here's looking forward to Cataclysm and another 2 years of Dragon Knights!

Icecrown Citadel and Arthas conquered!

At long last, Dragon Knights fielded a raid team that took it to the top and emerged whole on the other side. Arthas fell after a few weeks of raiding under Keyl (a.k.a. Kechara, a.k.a. Lady K) and Dacio. Potent help was rendered by other Kingslayers in the guild, including Klopps and Zynne. Here's the kill shot:

Arthas Down

A big thank you to everyone who stayed raiding with us through the summer doledrums and the end of x-pac blues. Congratulations to our raid team of Thelichkingz, Dhurga, Klopps, Novastorm, Leighellyn, Akkenfloster, Xoi, Venomlancer (a.k.a. Shirahime), my own lady Aelwen, and yours truly. Stay tuned for more updates as WotLK comes to a close and the Cataclysm brings the shattering of Azeroth.

SUMMER TIIIIME

And the livin' is eeeeasy.

Summer is in full swing and Dragon Knights are enjoying the weather outside of Azeroth. All the DK Officers wish everyone a happy and safe season in the sun and we look forward to a more active fall as school and weather forces us back into our caves of geekdom.

Fun in the sun!

A big grats to our raiders who got 11/12 done in ICC 10, and while RS might still kick our butts I know that many of us are looking forward to Cata and there is still lots to do before the expantion come out.

Oh and BTW we have killed many a TOTC 10 and 25, so a very belated grats on that :P

Crusaders Coliseum

Northrend Beasts and Lord Jaraxxus

Icehowl dead and beaten.

After focusing on Ulduar 10 progression last week in lieu of slaying the beasts, we returned to the Crusader's Coliseum and tackled the released bosses head on. Gormokk the Impaler, Acidmaw and Dreadscale and Icehowl all bit the dirt after being resoundly beaten by the Dragon Knights. The failed summoning of the Doomguard and fight with Lord Jaraxxus proved a painful, whips and torches filed encounter, but we took him down on the same night. Excellent work all around and we'll be moving smoothly into more Tier 9 content.

Unfortunately, Lord Jaraxxus despawned before we could take a group photo of the bugger. If anyone has a quick shot of him face down that night, please post it to the forums to share. Great work again guys.

Update: After only one weeks stall on the Horde Champions, we returned to clear the instance. Here's some nice little screen shots of other three bosses laying dead at our feet, their faces melted and treasures looted. We're 4 of 5 in the Coliseum and one week to go!

Lord Jarraxus Faction Champions Twin Val'kyr
Lord Jarraxus' body is burning. Faction Champions have run away and left their spoils. Twin Val'kyr blinded by the light/dark, wrapped up like a deuce, another roller in the night.
Secrets of Ulduar

The Descent into Madness

The general gutted.

Following the clear of Mimiron, the last Keeper of Ulduar, Dragon Knights began the Descent into Madness. With the twilight cultists and faceless ones dead at our feet, we stood before General Vezax, the no-mana-regen life sucker. As we fought and struggled against this wretched horror, my internet promptly died and we didn't defeat him.

But! We came back! And on the next night, he fell over like a sack of cat food attacked by 10 hungry kittens. Excellent work on the kill and we're all looking forward to killing death: Yogg-Saron!

Keepers of Ulduar Cleared!

With Mimiron going down and the rest of the Keepers freed from Yogg Saron's grip, we finally began Descending into Madness. Really, I just wanted to post separately for this beauty of an image.

All four Keepers of Ulduar looking down into Yogg Saron's broken prison.

Dragon Knights is now 11 out of 14 on Ulduar 10! Excellent work everyone and I'm certain we're going to bag a General Vezax kill very soon and post his faceless corpse here. I would also like to thank all the raiders who spent time on Mimiron but weren't present for the kill: Ephram, Galgalad, Clarece, and I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, I love you guys. I love all you guys.

Here's another shot of the first time we had 3 keepers down at once, from the Conservatory of Life tipping into Madness.

Guild first shot of 3 Keepers hanging out in the Antechamber.

More shots of Mimiron on the Progression page.

Keepers of Ulduar - Thorim and Freya down!

We surged back into Ulduar 10 tonight to take down a repeat kill on Hodir and then kill Thorim in only 3 tries. Very impressive all the way around. We moved on to Freya and cleared her room only to run out of time to get good attempts on her. That makes our modest guild 10 out of 14 on Ulduar 10! Good job again Dragon Knights and grats all around.

Hodir and Thorim Freya! Mimiron!
Hodir and Thorim defeated and overlooking the descent into madness Freya shows off her chest! Mimiron

Update 7/13: We returned to Ulduar this week and downed Freya after a Friday night run was canceled due to the disconnect plague.

Here's the full size Thorim and Freya images for your viewing pleasure.

Update 8/12: Mimiron went down on Wednesday night. By far, the most challenging boss we've faced; there are hundreds of ways to get yourself killed on that fight. We cleaned up the rest of the keepers and started on General Vezax. All in all, Vezax is a much more doable fight than Mimiron. We would have downed him except for losing our last attempts due to connection issues. More screenshots coming soon!

Normal Ulduar Progress

Dragon Knights is 8 out of 14 on Ulduar 10! Good job all around folks. The Siege and The Antechamber are completely clear. We're stepping up to Ulduar 25 this week, continuing our alliance with Knights of Utopia. The bosses in The Seige should prove easy fodder for the raiding machine!

Kologarn! Iron Council! Auriyana!
Kologarn Iron Council Auriyana

Update: So we finished off Hodir on Monday, June 1st, but before anyone could take a kill shot, the scamp buggerred off. No pics of us dancing on Hodir's grave, sadly. Grats guys on downing the Keeper.

Spring of 2009

Changes are a'comin!

Dragon Knights has downed Malygos on Normal Mode and various raid achievements. But you'd never be able to guess from this site, because I've been lazy! We migrated to Suicide Kings Loot system for our co-hosted Heroic Raid runs with KoU. The loot rankings for Tier 7 and Tier 8 are updated after each respective raid and the Loot system rules are explained in full on our forums in this post. More changes are planned for our humble website. Don't touch that dial/address bar!

We now turn all eyes to Ulduar and the Death God, Yogg Saron!

Guild Photo Updated

The Guild Custom page has been updated with our latest guild photo from the end of the Burning Crusade. Check it out!

It's time to raid . . .

Well ladies and gents, we're heading off to the raid encounters for the first time this week. Azulinder will be leading the first sojourn into Naxxramas 10 and yours truly will be leading raids into the Obsidian Sanctum and the Vault of Archavon. If you are level 80, or nearing level 80, it's not to early to start thinking about your raid game again.

All raid sign ups will be handled in game via the built-in Calendar tool. Everyone is expected to bring their highest level of preparation and attention to these raids and every raid. Please read the strategy for any bosses who are listed for the night BEFORE accepting the invite to the raid. Bring gold for repairs, your microphone for Ventrilo, and patience. Things always have a way of getting crazy, and I trust we can tackle it together with aplomb and our trademarked sense of humor and style.

Dragon Knights invade Northrend

Back to the leveling grind . . .

The expansion has well and truly launched and Dragon Knights is back to griding xp, rep and gear. In the 11 days of Wrath of the Lich King, we've already seen two people hit level 80, with Youprey edging out Hewithnoname by just a few short days. Youprey still has numerous alts demanding his attention, so he needs to to keep up his thus far impressive pace :) The guild still plans to organize the first runs of Naxxramas in December.

Recruitment remains open, with a number of new friends and recruits joining the guild. As always, if you have a friend or unguilded acquaintance who you think would fit in well with Dragon Knights, be sure to let them (or us) know! There is no stronger recomendation than that of a mutual friend. For people looking for a guild to call home for Wrath and beyond, be sure to look us up. Look around the site, the recruitment forums, or chat with us in-game.

In the mean time, good luck to all you Warcrafters faced with the level grind once again.

See you in Northrend!
Dacio

Wrath of the Lich King Pre-Release - November '08

Counting Down

Wrath of the Lich King is releasing on November the 13th, just days away. We are making a final push as a guild to see the remaing Burning Crusade raid content. Starting Thursday the 6th, we will be organizing raids on Serpentshrine Caverns, Black Temple, Mount Hyjal and (time permitting) the remaining bosses in Tempest Keep.

Raid invites will be sent at 8pm server each evening. It is our intention to visit each of the remaining raids before the expansion. If you want to be included in these raids, look us up. There will be no discrimination based on gear or experience; only attitude and adaptability will be used to screen. Send your information to an officer or post on our forums if you want a spot held for you.
